Recently a new bittorrent client has come out called Ted, a few people I know have tried it and it seems to be a bit pants to be honest. I have to reccommend one called Bust! though because it does seem to run extremely efficiently while you run other programs aswell.
I have discovered that running a single torrent file (leeching not seeding) at a time is much more efficient, but what if one finishes and I’m not around to start the next? Well I don’t know how many other clients have this deature but with Burst! you can have a queue of torrents waiting so that when your current leeching torrent finishes and starts seeding, the next one automatically starts leeching, but also this doesn’t bring down the torrent network as the rpevious one still seeds while the next begins to leech. Seems pretty handy to me.
ALso you can see exactly how many people you are connected to and if you really want, how much data you send each person and how much they send you and the speeds of up/down loading and so on. Burst! uses commant prompt windows to display all the detailed info which looks pretty damn cool
(as shown below)

However, obviously these windows can make the screen a bit messy and if you did want to have mulitple torrents going at the same time you would end up with windows all over the place, so you can hide these if you wish. The main download screen looks like the screenshot below:

This screen, when minimized, sits in the taskbar in the bottom right of your screen as a simple icon, and will run very well in the background while you are doing other things on the pc. You can also vary the amount of system resources the program will use, so that it wont interrupt what you’re doing. Seems pretty good to me, best bit-torrent client I’ve found so far.
Download it and give it a go here:
